I’ve had a horrendous 7 days. It all started last Tuesday when my wife called me around 3pm (when she was supposed to start work). Some 17 yr old (5’5″) driving an ’85 Chevy Blazer t-boned her Jetta as she was pulling into the parking lot of the Rite-Aid where she worked.
How the accident went down was she was sitting in a turn lane to make a left across 2 lanes of oncoming traffic. A small pickup had stopped in the #1 lane coming the opposite direction as the driver was going to make a left-hand turn onto a side street (there’s no turn or center lane coming from that direction).
My wife saw that traffic had stopped behind the pickup and could see clearly that there wasn’t any other oncoming traffic. So she made the turn and at that moment, the chevy blazer which was directly behind the pickup swerved around the pickup and punched the gas. Considering how short the stupid impatient kid was I doubt he saw my wife’s poor Jetta.

When it comes to Chevy Blazer vs VW Jetta, the Blazer won hands down.
I quickly grabbed my daughter and jumped in my car. After getting her personals out of the car at the tow yard we headed back home. On the way home we were driving down Twin Cities road and in the direction I was heading there were 2 lanes. A truck was pulling into the Raley’s shopping center parking lot and a Jeep Cherokee was looking to pull across the 2 lanes and head in the opposite direction.
Well, the Cherokee was also impatient and decided to cross those lanes as I was passing by the truck pulling into the parking lot. Fortunately there was a center lane and I was able to swerve to avoid being t-boned by a complete fucking retard. Fortunately for the retard my daughter was hungry (since I hadn’t packed anything in my rush to go see how my wife was doing) and I decided against flipping a bitch and chasing the jackass down.
Nerve-wacking to say the least.
So after the substantial damage to the Jetta it’s going to be a total loss for us. And unfortunately for us the pay-out is about 300′sh dollars cheaper than the blue book retail value for the Jetta. So now we’re gonna have to go out and get a new car for my wife.
You think that’s the last of my bad luck?
Sunday afternoon my wife opened the front door and noticed that my Civic wasn’t out front. “Did you move your car?” She asked me to which I hadn’t. Yes that’s fucking right, my ’99 Civic Si was stolen … from right in front of my house.
Surely insurance would improve my situation right? Well due to money issues I had allowed my insurance to lapse. However even IF I still had my insurance, I had downgraded it to the point where I’d still be ass-out and out-of-luck with my car.
So my only hope was that the police would locate my car … in one piece. Well they did locate my car, in one piece. But that piece was missing a few things … the engine, the transmission, and my non-standard non-upgradable showroom leather interior. All that remains of my car is the unibody frame; completely stripped and raped.
So yeah, I’ve had a fucking horrible week. But it can only get better right?
